Hog Island Boas

The Hog Island boa constrictor (Boa constrictor imperator) is an insular boa constrictor that rarely exceeds six feet in length. It is native to several of the islands just off the coast of Honduras - most notably Cayos de los Cochinos (Spanish for "Hog Island"). It is believed that there have been no wild populations of this boa on the two small islands that comprise Cayos de los Cochinos since the late 80's (due to commercial collecting), and most of the ones that have been imported for the last 15 years have been from nearby Roatan Island and the Bay Islands. The small size and docile disposition of these boas have made them a popular snake among boa fanciers.

Our breeding pair consists of a 2000 female and a 2001 male. Both are beautiful animals with low speckling and lots of coloration (orange, pink and gunmetal blue).
