The leopard gecko (Eublapharis macularius) is a nocturnal member of the gecko family that is native to rocky, desert areas in Afghanistan, northwestern India and Pakistan. Its name is derived from the spotted pattern that is typical of normally colored leopard geckos. These popular pets grow to a maximum length of eight or nine inches. They can be found in a wide range of colors and patterns and are easily one of the animals commonly chosen as an introduction to reptiles as pets. If a leopard gecko loses its tail, the tail does regenerate but will rarely be as long or as colorful as the original. Its beauty, the fact that it is quite docile and tolerates a moderate amount of handling, and its relatively low cost make the leopard gecko an extremely popular pet lizard.
We've got a number of males and females that we use in our breeding program. All are examples of very colorful geckos that combine a variety of appearances like high yellow, albino, patternless, and carrot-tail.
